What’s your Fashion Fix? You know… that one thing that no matter how many you have, you can always accommodate one more. For me, it is shoes and lipstick. Shoes were and still are a great one because they take very little trying on and usually fit no matter what’s going on with the rest of your physique.  During the shutdown, I named earrings as the new shoes because we were waist of broadcasting and they also were an easy pick me up that was quite accessible.

It’s funny as it seems to be a top and bottom thing, when querying some of my fellow LARC (LA Row Club) buddies – you know the crazies that are on Mother’s Beach at O dark thirty carrying 450lb boats into the water.  And then rowing for an hour out in the channel, up and down in unison, 8 or 4 rowers with a cox swain calling the shots. I digress, anyway most of them either named baseball caps or sunglasses as their “practical” indulgence. My husband doesn’t row, but strangely enough, those are his two guiltless fixes. The gals say the bb caps hide a bad hair day, make you look cool even if your teenagers don’t agree and will take you from the windy surf to a restaurant with a modicum of adjustment.

Then there is my son… he goes for tee shirts specifically graphic tees with points well taken and statements of irony. Also, never enough new not sure what you even call them. Not running shoes but athletic shoes for dress and casual wear. Colors, patterns etc. when he was going into high school, he was an early adopter of the ability to custom create Nike’s and Van’s.

Another friend cannot have enough Old Navy skinny jeans, they fit like a glove and are inexpensive. She also grabs peach lip gloss whenever she sees it, claiming it doubles down as blush and, lest we forget, mascara whenever it’s a deal.

I know shopping, acquiring, collecting, piling up is frowned upon, but there is something to be said for a Fashion quick fix. It can brighten your attitude, spice up your day and even make a pivotal change to your course.

My point here is to encourage you to have FUN, GLOW, RADIATE KINDNESS, and do it all from the inside out. Life is for living and living takes effort until it is effortless. Aging is inevitable – while getting OLD is an option. Which door do you choose?

Be well, Be Stylish, Be Happy and Glow with me!
